7th grade is finishing the Titanic Unit 8th grade continues with the Holocaust Unit Next week: 6th grade continues Lit. Circle roles, vocabulary, and quizzes with Treasure Island 7th grade will begin The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain 8th grade continues with the Holocaust Unit 6th: Students learned about variables and independent variables. This was an extension to learning about how to write accurate directions.
Homework on google classroom. 7th: Students continued with background knowledge of national parks. 8th: Speaker Lindsey Cheney from Bradley University. Due tomorrow: Exit Ticket for Lindsey Cheney, Background Essay, and Interview. 6th: Writing: Demonstration on why it is important to write good directions.
7th: Writing: Students learned the importance of "point of view" and how your background knowledge and experiences contribute to your point of view. Students watched video about John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt and analyzed their point of view in regards to the National Parks. 8th: Writing: We had John Baylor, who is a local farmer, come to the classroom to talk about farming and working the farming industry. Exit Ticket due tomorrow for homework. 6th: Lesson 6-2-17 through page 71.
7th: Quiz Wednesday - solving equations. 8th: Quiz over systems of equations. 6th: Writing: Introduction to writing procedural directions.
Write directions on how to make a pb&J sandwich for homework 7th: Project: Watched and analyzed video of "The National Park Experience" 8th: Career: Continue to work on interview and background essay both are due on Friday. Developed and discussed questions for the speakers coming to the classroom this week. A speaker will be giving a talk about working on a farm. |
